20 February 1999 - Saturday

"After 15 days of colder and colder sailing we have reached our desired port (Deseado). It is already Patagonia. Treeless, wavy, rocky and sandy landscapes. First seals and penguin colonies. (...) From here straight to Cape Horn and Ushuaia."

Marcin Sochaj

Antica left her last stop before Horn, Puerto Deseado. She is just 600 miles from the stormy cape. After reaching it, the yacht is supposed to stop in Ushuaia. Captain had a radio contact with Polish vessels visiting this area, Zawisza Czarny and Fryderyk Chopin - weather forecast doesn't make them too optimistic. They have strong west wind, blowing for a long time.
